Integration of these new files will require some contact editing on your part to synchronize the new award files; steps to accomplish this are outlined in the Award File update file download segment.

With respect to the ST0 prefix, the ITU has not officially allocated a prefix to the Republic of South Sudan. Even though the ARRL has assigned a country code to this entity, it will not be officially added to DXCC list until the ITU makes an announcement. However, due to overwhelming customer requests to separate out these contacts in ProLog, we are releasing this update assigning the Republic of South Sudan the primary prefix of "SS0".

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are four files involved in the ST0 update; the Prefix File Update (V5.20), the Award File update (V1.03), the ADIF Import/Export update (V1.02) and the Maps/Flags Update (V1.02). These files begin with this segment and then the following three (sans the Help File Update Section), segments. Also, once you have downloaded and integrated these four update files, you must re-index each of your active logbooks to replace the existing award tracking files with the update files.

The individual Alaskan Boroughs have been replaced by the four Judicial Districts which are the entities track by the CQ County Award.  Once you have downloaded and expanded this file you must re-index each of your active logbooks to replace the existing county award tracking file with the new file. You may have to re-synchronize your Alaskan Counties to the new Judicial District list. To do this, simply bring the contact into the logging form, then double click in the "County" field, select the appropriate Judicial District, click "Apply", then save the contact back to the database.

V1,01:
This Award File update edits the name of the New Hampshire County of "Hillsboro" to "Hillsborough". This spelling would now be in concert with CallMaster, QRZ Online, RAC, Hamcall and the County Hunters List.

V1,02:
This Award File updates the DXCC Award Files by moving the old PJ2 (Bonaire, Curacao) and PJ5 (St. Maarten, Saba, St Eustatius) to deleted Status and adding PJ2 (Curacao), PJ4 (Bonaire), PJ5/PJ6 (Saba and St. Eustatius) and PJ7 (Sint Maarten) to active status.

Procedurally;  save the AWARDSUDV103.EXE file to your \Program Files\Prolog-V7 folder.

If you are using Windows 95,98,ME,NT,2000 or XP; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog-V7 folder and double-click on the AWARDSUDV103 .EXE file. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

Once you have downloaded and expanded this file you must re-index each of your active logbooks to replace the existing county award tracking file with the new file.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows-7; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog-V7 folder, locate the AWARDSUDV103.EXE file, then position the mouse-pointer over the filename and right-click. When the menu is displayed, left-click the "Run as an Administrator" menu selection. If you are notified that an unidentified program wants to access your computer, left-click the "Allow" command entry. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

Once you have downloaded and expanded this file you must re-index each of your active logbooks to replace the existing award tracking template files with the update files.

Those users that have previously downloaded the V1.02 update and edited their existing PJ prefixes may skip the next two sections and proceed to the instructions for modifying their existing Republic of South Sudan (ST0) contacts.

I wish I could say at this point that your work is done, however you must now re-synchronize your logbooks by re-classifying all of your existing PJ contacts prior to October 10, 2010 from "P" to "D" status. You cannot credit your PJ contacts prior to the switchover date to the newly assigned PJ prefix series.

Additionally, if you have been entering the PJ contacts into ProLog since 10/10/2010, they have been improperly credited due to the fact that the old prefix database and award files were installed at the time of input. This will require an additional step to synchronize these new contacts with the latest prefix database and award files.

First, lets assign deleted country status to all of the contacts prior to 10/10/2010. Following are the series of steps to accomplish this procedure.

After you have re-indexed your logbook, return to the logging form and perform the following steps.

1) Order the logbook by Callsign.

2) Click the "Find" button and enter "PJ2" in the "Find Call" field and click "OK".

3) Your first PJ2 contact should be displayed in the logging form. Just to make sure, use the keyboard cursor up key to scroll backwards until the callsign field contains some other callsign that is not "PJ2". Use the cursor down key to return to the first PJ2 callsign.

4) Take note of the contact date; if it is before October 10, 2010 you will have to change the prefix status of this contact from a "P" to a "D". To do this locate the "Typ" field in the "Entity Information" panel of the logging form. Swipe the "P" and enter a "D". This changes the contacts prefix to a deleted country. Finally click the "Save" pushbutton to save the contact back to the database.

5) Next, simply press the keyboard cursor down button to display the next PJ2 contact. Continue to repeat steps 4 and 5 until the contact callsign does not begin with "PJ".  Once again, make sure you check the date of the contact, if the contact date is on or after October 10th, 2010 then skip the "Typ" modification by using the cursor down key to move on to the next contact.

6) After all of your PJ contacts have been edited, return to the Logbook Menu and re-index the logbook.

7) Repeat steps 1-6 for any additional logbooks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that you have all of your old PJ contacts assigned to Deleted Country status, we now have to synchronize the new PJ contacts made after 10/10/2010 to the current DXCC entities. If you have been entering these contacts to paper-logs then you will simply have to enter the contacts using ProLog's manual mode. If however, you have been entering these new PJ contacts into ProLog you will have accomplish the following procedure.

4) Take note of the contact date; if it is on or after October 10, 2010 you will have to change the prefix assignment of the contact. To do this, with the contact displayed, click the "DXCC" button in the Award Status Information panel which will display the DXCC Entity List. The selector bar should be positioned within the PJ2 section of the list.

5) Select the PJ prefix you wish to assign the contact to, then click the "Transfer" pushbutton. This will transfer all of the information relative to that prefix back to the logging form. You have now synchronized this contact with the proper PJ prefix. Finally, click the "Save" pushbutton to save the contact back to the database.

6) Next, simply press the keyboard cursor down button to display the next PJ2 contact. Continue to repeat steps 4 and 5 until the contact callsign does not begin with "PJ".  Once again, make sure you check the date of the contact, only correct contacts with a contact date that is on or after October 10, 2010. if the contact date is before October 10th, 2010 then skip the contact by using the cursor down key to move on to the next contact.

7) After all of your PJ contacts have been edited, return to the Logbook Menu and re-index the logbook.

8) Repeat steps 1-7 for any additional logbooks.

--------------------------------------------------- Steps to Update Your Contacts with the Republic of South Sudan -----------------------------------------------------------

1) Make sure you have re-indexed the Logbook.

2) Bring the previously worked ST0 contact into the Logging Form.

3) Click the "DXCC" button in the "Award Status Information" panel, this will display the DXCC Entity List.

4) Scroll down and locate the "PSS0", "Republic of South Sudan" entry, select it, then left-click the "Transfer" pushbutton.

5) The DXCC entity window will close returning you to the logging form; finally, left-click the "Save" pushbutton.

6) Repeat steps 1-5 for all of your South Sudan contacts.

V6.36 Version Update.

Version History

Before you commence this operation, launch ProLog, click "Help", then "About" and record your current version number. Your current version will determine if you have to accomplish an additional operation.

The V6.36 update corrects a problem when utilizing the "Digital" checkbox. With some rigs, the mode setting in the logging form was reverting back to the currently selected rig mode rather than retaining the selected Digital Mode. This version also corrects a problem associated with the batch processing of eQSL status utilizing the "Update QSL/Tag Status (Group)" located on the right-click menu of the SFI list or any of the award report modules.

The V6.35 update corrects an operational anomaly with Windows 98 and ME where launching the Prefix and 1010 editors would crash the system. This update also includes new help files with an added topic that provides an overview and operational description of the new Vista-64 backup capability.

The V6.34 update supports the change to the DX Summit Robots. In collaboration with N6RT we have synchronized the data alignment of DX Spots generated by N6RT and N6RT-away  with the 'dxs' robot. This will ensure that regardless of the DX Spot source, the data format will be the same.

Version 6.33 supports the Backup and Restoring of Logbooks under Windows Vista-64. The operational procedures of this new functionality are detailed in the Vista-64 Backup Document.

Version 6.31/V6.32 updates ProLog to work with the new DX Summit record format. Additionally, V6.32 returns the generation of DX Spots back to the ProLog environment while adding the new functionality that permits the user to generate DX Summit General Announcements. If you have not done so previously, make sure you also download the V4.6 prefix database update.  They are meant to work together; running one without the other may produce unpredictable results.

Also included are new Context Sensitive Help Files that will run under both Windows XP and the New Windows Vista Operating System.  If, for some reason, after downloading and integrating this update, you have problems accessing the new ProLog Help File System, open the "program files\prolog\help" file folder and rename the existing file "PROLOG2K.CHM" file to "PROLOG2K._CHM". Doing this deactivates the new Vista Help Files and re-activates your older Help File System.

Procedurally;  save the PROLOGV636.EXE file to your \Program Files\Prolog folder.

If you are using Windows 95,98,ME,NT,2000 or XP; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog folder and double-click on the PROLOGV636.EXE file. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows-7; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog folder, locate the PROLOGV636.EXE file, then position the mouse-pointer over the filename and right-click. When the menu is displayed, left-click the "Run as an Administrator" menu selection. When you are notified that an unidentified program wants to access your computer, left-click the "Allow" command entry. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

Next, launch ProLog, click "Help", then "About" and verify that the version number is "V6.36" dated "April 4, 2009".

If  your previous version number was "6.0"

If  your previous version was "V6.00", after integrating the update, you must reconfigure each of your active logbooks. To do this, close the Logging Form, click "File", then "Logbook Menu", select the logbook, then click the "Reconfigure Logbook" command pushbutton. Repeat this operation for each of your active logbooks.

Updated DXCC Prefix and Award Files

See \Program Files\ProLog\Database\DXCCPRFX.LOG For a Complete Version History

Version 4.3 November 8, 2006

This file contains the latest Prefix changes, specifically:

a)
The addition of Swain's Island; assigned as prefix "KH8/S".

b) The addition of Montenegro; tentatively assigned as prefix "YU6". While no official prefix has been assigned by the ITU we have taken the liberty of assigning the "YU6" prefix so that Montenegro can be separated out from Serbia which retains all of it's originally assigned prefixes.

c) Removal of obsolete North Cook Islands Prefix (ZK1/N), replaced with new prefix (E5/N).

d) Removal of obsolete South Cook Islands Prefix (ZK1/S), replace with new prefix (E5/S).

Version 4.4 July 20, 2007

a) Expanded the "DL" entity to include DN, DO, DP, DQ and DR.

b) Removed VR2 from Hong Kong, replaced with VR. This change associates any VR callsign and VS6's to the DXCC Entity of Hong Kong (VS6).

c) The ITU on May 11, 2007 assigned all 4O's (Four Oscars) (1-9) to Montenegro and all YT and YU (0-9) to Serbia. This announcement and shift of prefixes has necessitated the following Prefix Database changes:

  1) Removed the associated "4O" prefix from Serbia.
  2) Removed the existing "YU6 Montenegro" Record.
  3) Added new "4O" Montenegro Record.
  4) Added new Country Flags for Serbia and Montenegro.

Now, this change will require the modification of all your previous contacts with Montenegro where the DXCC prefix of "YU6" has been assigned. These contacts will have to be changed to the new "4O" prefix to get your award status back in sync. Please follow the instructions for modifying the ZK1/N in the "Logbook Resynchronization" paragraph below. While reading, replace all occurrences of "ZK1/N" with "YU6" and "E51/N" with "4O" and you should have no problem getting your logbook back in sync.

Note Regarding Montenegro/Serbia Modification

With regard to Montenegro, while the country achieved independence on June 28, 2006 it wasn't until May 11, 2007 that the ITU officially assigned the "4O" prefix block to them. During the interim period, Montenegro and Serbia had an agreement temporarily assigning 4O3, 4O6, YT3, YT6, YU3, YU6, YZ3 and YZ6 to Montenegro. Since many of these prefixes had already been assigned prior to the separation of these two countries, we strongly suggest you research the actual QTH of operation during this approximately 10 month period before changing the DXCC field of any contact associated with these prefixes.

Version 4.5 December 21, 2007

a) Unlink the current "FJ" prefix assigned to Saint Martin.
b) Associate prefix "FJ" with new DXCC Entity Saint Barthelemy.

Operational Note:

The FJ prefix had been previously assigned to, and used by, stations operating from Saint Martin. According to the ARRL DXCC desk, in the future the FJ prefix may be utilized by both Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy. This poses some operational difficulties because FJ's can now originate from two separate DXCC entities.

This problem has been resolved in the following way. Whenever you work an "FJ", ProLog will display a Dialog Box where you will be able to select either Saint Martin or Saint Barthelemy. This multiple selection feature is not new to the ProLog system having been in use for 3D2, VP8, VP6, VS9 et al. However, with the inclusion of the FJ selection, make sure you download and install the latest executable update file (V6.23) together with these new prefix and award files. They are meant to work together; one without the other may produce unpredictable results.

Version 4.6 March 22, 2008

Effective November 17, 2007 the DXCC desk has removed and deactivated the entity "T9" (Bosnia-Herzegovina) from the DXCC list and replaced it with entity "E7". From information received, all Amateurs within the country will be changing over to the new E7 prefix within the next few weeks. Just in case this changeover takes longer than anticipated, ProLog will continue to associate the "T9" prefix with the new "E7" DXCC entity.

a) Disassociate DXCC Entity "T9" from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
b) Associate new DXCC entity "E7" with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Now, this change will require the modification of all your previous contacts with Bosnia-Herzegovina where the old DXCC prefix of "T9" has been assigned. These contacts will have to be changed to the new "E7" prefix to get your award status back in sync. Please follow the instructions for modifying the ZK1/N in the "Logbook Resynchronization" paragraph below. While reading, replace all occurrences of "ZK1/N" with "T9" and "E51/N" with "E7" and you should have no problem getting your logbook back in sync.

Installing the Prefix Database Files:

First, launch ProLog, click "Help" then "About ProLog" and record the current ProLog Prefix Database version number that is listed on the second line of the display; then shutdown ProLog.

Next,  save the V6V46DXCC.EXE file to your \Program Files\Prolog folder.

If you are using Windows 95,98,ME,NT,2000 or XP; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog folder and double-click on the V6V46DXCC.EXE file. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content which should indicate that 9 files have been successfully extracted. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows-7; proceed as follows:

After the download has completed, open your \Program Files\ProLog folder, locate the V6V46DXCC.EXE file, then position the mouse-pointer over the filename and right-click. When the menu is displayed, left-click the "Run as an Administrator" menu selection. When you are notified that an unidentified program wants to access your computer, left-click the "Allow" command entry. This will open a WinZip display window; click the "Unzip" command pushbutton which will extract and expand the file content which should indicate that 9 files have been successfully extracted. When the extraction process has completed, close the WinZip Dialog Box.

Launch ProLog, click "Help" then "About ProLog" and verify that the Prefix Database version number indicates "V4.6" dated "March 22, 2008".  At this point, if you have not done so already, shutdown ProLog and download the V6.27 executable version update, then continue.

 Logbook Resynchronization:

The various prefix additions and changes that have been made to the DXCC Award file will require you to store the new template in each of your active logbook folders. You can do this simply by selecting each of your active logbooks followed by a left-click on the "Renew Award Templates" command pushbutton.

Before you commenced the installation of the new Prefix Database you were instructed to made a note of your existing Prefix Database version number. If your previous version was "V4.4" then your installation is complete. If you were using an earlier version then you may have to do some administration which is detailed in the following paragraphs.

If you have not worked Swain's Island, Montenegro or North/South Cook Islands then the integration and updating of your logbooks is complete. If you have previously worked any of those entities, you will have to accomplish a series of manual operations to align those contacts with the newly assigned prefixes. The following procedure will outline the changing of one prefix; once completed, use the same procedure to update all additional contacts.

1) Bring the contact to be changed into the logging form for editing. Let's assume for the sake of clarity that the contact is with a ZK1... and the logging form "DXCC" Prefix field contains the obsolete "ZK1/N" prefix.

2) Click the "DXCC" button in the Award Status Panel. You should get a message that the "Award Label Does Not Exist"; this is perfectly normal because the obsolete ZK1/N prefix has been removed from the award file. Click "OK" to clear this message; which will display the DXCC Award List.

3) Scroll down the Award List and locate/select the "E5/N" entry then click the "Transfer" command pushbutton located at the bottom of the list window.

4) The display will return to the logging form with the new "E5/N" prefix listed in the "DXCC" Field. Finally, click the "Save" command pushbutton to store the contact back to the database. This procedure now aligns that contact with the newly assigned E5/N DXCC Entity.

Repeat steps 1-4 for each contact that needs to be changed.

Note:  This update file also contains new ADIF Import and Export Executables that have been modified to include the three new entities "KH8/S" , "4O", "FJ" and "E7" plus the removal of YU6 as Montenegro and the modified entities E5N and E5S.
